Alonissos is surrounded by many desert islands, most of which belong to the National Marine Park of Alonissos Northern Sporades (N.M.P.A.N.S).
The desert islands are Peristera, Kyra Panagia, Gioura, Skantzoura, Piperi, Psathoura and Dio Aderfia.
